levels of friendship
"we do friend things together, but let us remember that we are not friends."
this quote was proposed in class today by our instructor. we were talking about the coach/athlete relationship and he said that one of his students in the past passed this quote on from his father. while it may seem cold on the exterior, this quote really does have a deeper meaning. because parents are a superior, authoritative figure, there is no way to have a deep level of friends. that is, there is not a measure of equality in the relationship; one that exists among best friends. s.b. drewe addresses these different levels of friendships in his article, The coach-athlete relationship: how close is too close?
what do you think about this? do you agree?

thursday evening surprise!! best SIL's ever!
my twin sister and i headed home this weekend to work on promoting the race were holding in may...but in the mean time we had a little fun!
i should preface this story with the fact that my older sister and isteal share each others clothes all of the time and her husband thinks we are crazzzyyy because of it! haha the infamous story was when we were "pulling each others hair and yelling" when they had just started dating, but somehow he stuck around. i beg to challenge that we were just "having a civil dispute," but none the less....our clothing escapades can get interesting...all of you with sisters can understand!
anyway, my brother in law, Jake, thinks now that whenever he cant find an article of clothing that we took it!....he has been on us for the last few weeks about this sweatshirt that is missing. so, when we went to their house thursday night, we searched the house and ended up finding it in his own house, right where he works out! soo...i decided he must work for this one!... and there we went setting up a little game for him when he got home from work!!! :)
step 1: irish car bomb!
haha this was all right when he got home from work and before his soccer game....maybe that is why they lost!! oh jake! thanks for being such a champ :) i know he cant wait for another one of us girls to get married so he is no longer the only guy getting harrassed! :)

step 2: power hour!
step 3: he had to choose three colors, and colored shot glasses were arranged accordingly in the freezer. of course, he so perfeclty chose the 3 worst shots ... including cinnamon aftershock EWW
step 4: put on the JEGGINGS (that he got me for xmas as a joke) and do the macarena.
step 5: us making fun of him and his love of harry potter with a broomstick and a cape!!

iPAD vs. iTAMPON
as i was browsing CNN.com yesterday, i am not kidding that on the front page of the latest news....where NORMALLY all of the latest and most IMPORTANT headlines are slated to appear....was the title "iPad name draws feminine hygiene jokes." i am not typically the one to state things such as, "dont we realize we have a war going on?" but this headline seemed to strike me as rediculously absurd! (although i must say, consumers are creative- i am a woman and i didnt even think of this play on words..)
hopefully cnn will have more important stories to report on today....meanwhile...i still want an ipad! who doesnt?! :)
